Deaf Havana return to Manchester as a duo

Deaf Havana are embarking on their first UK tour since becoming a duo – playing their favourite place in the north.

The alternative rock band, who recently released the album The Present Is A Foreign Land, are playing at Manchester Academy on November 11.

This is the first UK tour the band have done since splitting in 2021, leaving brothers Matt and James Veck-Gilodi as a duo.

Matt, the band’s guitarist, said: ”Manchester is my favourite place to play in the north, so suck it, everyone else.”

Manchester mums protesting to demand affordable childcare

Manchester will join 10 other regions in the UK in staging protests against the poor treatment of mothers and families later this month.

The campaign, organised by the charity Pregnant Then Screwed, is demanding affordable childcare of good quality for all, flexible working as a default and properly paid maternity and paternity leave.

Review: Arctic Monkeys’ first show back in Manchester

Arctic Monkeys performed a sell out show at Old Trafford Cricket ground last night and wowed the crowds.

This was the start of two consecutive nights at the cricket ground, as part of their first UK and Ireland tour since 2018.
